The Caminero Lab has some exciting new updates in our laboratory.
First, we a belated congratulations to our undergraduate student, Dominic Haas who was accepted and started a Ph.D program at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, California with Dr. Michael Constantinides! During his time in the Caminero Lab, Dominic examined dietary intervention and its ability to activate aryl hydrocarbon receptor. We are extremely proud of Dominic’s accomplishments. We wish Dominic all the best with his research studies.
Next, we would like to welcome the Caminero Lab’s first post doctoral fellow, Bruna Barbosa da Luz. Dr. Barbosa da Luz completed her PhD. in Pharmacology from the Federal University of Parana in Brazil under the supervision of Dr. Maria Fernanda Werner. During her PhD studies, she worked with Dr. Wallace MacNaughton at the University of Calgary to examine intestinal epithelial barrier with intestinal cells and organoids. We would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Barbosa da Luz to the Caminero Lab!
