The annual Canadian Digestive Disease Week (CDDW) conference was held in Toronto, Ontario this year. The Caminero Lab members attended the conference and presented some of their newest findings. We had trainee presentations including:
1) an oral talk from Dr. Bruna Barbosa, who received the CAG Student Prize Award for her abstract titled, “Development of a pre-clinical mouse model to investigate adverse food reactions in intestinal inflammation”
2) Liam Rondeau presented a poster titled, “Enhanced microbial tryptophan metabolism activates the aryl hydrocarbon receptor and ameliorates intestinal inflammation”
3) Rebecca Dang, presented a poster titled, “Perceived food intolerances in patients with inflammatory bowel disease compared to healthy controls”
Also, Dr. Caminero presented 2 oral talks during CDDW. Dr. Caminero first talk was on, “Crosstalk between microbiome and host metabolism: microbial antigen metabolism in adverse reactions to foods” during the Basic Science Symposium: GI Disease and Metabolic Health. His second talk was titled, “Pathogenesis: Host and non-host factors in celiac disease” for the Basic Science/Clinical Symposium on Celiac Disease: Nutrition and Treatment.
We had an amazing time sharing our research and networking with other GI researcher and clinicians! We are looking forward to CDDW 2025 in Quebec City.
